we ate cereal for dinner the other night

Breakfast for dinner has to be the best thing ever. My girl loves cereal with milk- in a bowl, like a grown up. But the only problem is that it’s a HUGE mess. The spoon doesn’t always make it to her mouth in time and her hands end up in the bowl way too often. Instead of having a panic attack, I decided to just go with it this time.

For me, this is just as hard as watching her pick up handfuls of sand outside, letting her make a big mess during bath time, and letting her put things away without immediately intervening to do it the “right” way.

Life with a toddler is just that; she pushes while I’m pulling.

While trying to dress her, she is twisting and rolling.

Baths are just frustrating while I’m hunched over the toilet trying to keep a slippery baby from swimming away, while trying to get her clean, my pants have become soaked and my hair is frizzing and tickling my nose.

I say she’s done with her meal as she is squishing it between her fingers, she cries when I take her plate away.

A few weeks ago, I shared my girl’s first pony tail.

 

It makes me smile and feel like she is so grown up. I mean, I realize some people can do this when their kids are like 3 months old, but not my baby! Here she is at 3 months.

 

 

We have the Fisher Price Animals app. It’s the only kids app I have on my phone and she really likes it. I haven’t heard about any other good ones. But come to think of it, I really don’t want my 1.5 yr old commandeering my phone all day anyway.

 

 

 

I finally got over my Monday Blues. Sometimes you just need a day, I guess. One thing I forgot to mention is the amazing breakfast burrito I had…since Pea is allergic to eggs, we don’t prepare them in the house or eat them near her. So it’s when an opportunity strikes, I take it! I also took a bath, which is my first bath in probably years. Let’s see how that went again:

 

 

Right.

I just don’t think I could truly relax and take a bath even if my husband was with my babe elsewhere in the house. I'm always waiting to hear that crash or jump to my feet if he needs backup. You know, neurotic mom stuff.

 

We played with chalk on the driveway last weekend. It was a hit.

 

 

I know I’ve already mentioned this a few times, but I LOVE these two together. It’s like watching my past hopes and dreams play out in front of me.

 

 

 

A long weekend ahead. I better get together my best toddler activities, because she lets us know when mommy and daddy daycare are lacking entertainment!

I had a case of the Mondays.

 

I had it...BAD. Everything was just pissing me off. From my clothes to my hair, the fact that a poopy diaper meant either I be late or sit in the car with a fussy (and stinky) toddler. I had something stuck in my eye for the last two hours that had caused me to rub off half of my makeup.

  
When I decided to call it a day at 8:30am, I thought of all the things I could do. Dishes, scrub stove, I'm sure I can get in at least 3 loads of laundry...

 
Then, I went to get a massage instead. After that, Starbucks. After that, a long bath.

You see, I'm rusty at this home alone with no toddler thing...

But obviously not that rusty.

Luckily, I have one of those amazing husbands that says things like "you deserve it" and "just relax today".

 
And I did.
