It's here!

It's almost Christmas! Our first Christmas with our new baby girl and we are so excited! We have truly been looking forward to this Christmas because it just makes everything sweeter :) The family is home and we are excited to have a big Christmas. Her first ornament is hung on the tree, a very thoughtful gift from Auntie Nycole that we didn't even know about until it showed up in the mail!

She helped me wrapped gifts (and then fell asleep, so I had to switch tasks because it was too loud).

Miss Paisley is growing so quickly. She is sleeping very well, usually from about 10:30 until about 5 or 6am!! I consider that sleeping through the night! Right now we have the luxury of going back to sleep after that feeding until about 8:30-9, but in just 2 short weeks (eek!) we will be getting up and getting ready to go to work & daycare. I've already had the dream once that I went to work and didn't drop her off, or left her at home or something like that. I'm sure this won't be the end of my daycare anxiety. Andrew and I had our first official date night and left Grammy and Grampy with a bottle. We explained to them that sometimes she cries and gets very upset when she gets the bottle and just let us know if she won't take it. Of course, she took the bottle without a peep and she made us look like liars! We are trying to do a bottle a day to get her used to them, but we have been very busy and it doesn't always happen. Soon, she is  going to be getting 4-5 bottles a day so we better get on it!!

Paisley has been filling the room with lots of vowel sounds and coos, and she is also full of smiles. She recently discovered Toby, her feet, and her brightly colored stuffed animals! Here are a few things that we can't live without at 2 months old:
The Boppy! I use it for EVERY feeding.
The Puj tub. So easy to store and clean.
Pampers sensitive diapers. The ones with the wetness indicator :)
MAM binks. As you can see from the pics, we keep them close.
Baby gloves. My little one still scratches up her face without them!
Wipe warmer.
Sleep sacks.

The anteater is all the way from Afghanistan! I love it!
Although she is a pretty happy baby most of the time, one of the things that she absolutley hates is TUMMY TIME! She grunts and struggles and cries and then starts it all over again. I have to roll her over and give her a breather because she is freaking out so much. But she does great pushing herself up everywhere else. Just hates being layed down on the floor face down. We are going to keep working at it, but it's usually something I make sure to do when she is fed and happy.

So mommy makes her feel better and then turns her back over for another go. :)

Here's a sneak peak for what I'm still finishing up:

Already 7 weeks old!

She had her 6wk well baby check up and shots! Aww poor baby screaming soo hard for the shots. Just melted her mama! She was so sleepy for the rest of the day and would wake up screaming her little head off during her nap. Turns out she just needed some mommy cuddles and kisses. Everything was great for the checkup; there were no concerns and she is (of course) in the 90th percentile for weight and the 83rd percentile for height :) *Gives self pat on the back for breastfeeding this long*. The Dr. offered to 'take her off my hands' a few times and called her beautiful over and over and over! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so ;)

Modeling already
We got placed with the daycare (whew!) for the date we requested! That takes a big worry off of us knowing that we will be able to start care on the day I am due back to work. We went to the orientation, and of course, the person giving it took care of me when I was 2 years old (there are some nice things about still living in your hometown!). I feel very good about the daycare, afterall, it's where I grew up as well. She also went to see all of mommy's coworkers and showed off by being really alert and smiling.

Life has changed. I have to say it is true that your enjoyment and love for your baby does grow. Each stage is so different and I have to admit that I am happy to be out of the newborn stage. Now there is so much more interaction (and sleep), playtime (and sleep), and going out to new places (and sleep). I am finally feeling the Christmas spirit and got our tree up!

Fussy time. We have become creative for dealing with this. We are very lucky that she's not fussy for very long and we can usually figure out what's going on. She is usually fussy in the evenings and after clean diapee, fed, and burped, if she is still fussy, she likes to sit up on the couch and play with daddy.

Or she likes to be Moby wrapped. (this usually makes for a good nap)

Or sometimes she just wants mommy to take the gigantic cute bow off her head :)

By the way- did you know they made jeans this small?

Or uggs this small?

Things that are different, things that I love (and never could have before), things that make me happy and proud:
cleaning the coffee table anything with an old burpee is completely acceptable.
getting the dishwasher half unloaded is good. It's about shaving minutes off the task!
a shower is an immaculate thing. add yummy smelling body wash=a spa experience. really.
baby burps, baby poops, baby spitups make a happy mommy.
the amazing amount of love that makes our little family.
big, gummy baby smiles in the morning after a long night. then I'm not mad anymore.
finishing my cup of coffee. another feat.
miss paisley's daytime naps. they are rare and unpredictable.

This face is "I'm going to spit my binky out so you
can put it back in" Over. and over. and over.

Shooting on continuous.

                                I could pretty much...

Do this all day

Someone must stop me

I just can't help it.

I think I might bite her.

Mommy is funny!

And weird.

Ok, I'll stop.

I hear ya.

Alright! Alright! I'm done :)

Somebody...

Had her first bottle last night.
As mommy hovered and cried on the inside that my girl is 6 weeks old and that she took the bottle with no complaints. For the record, my sweet pea ate all 3 and a half ounces in about 5-7 minutes from a SLOW flow nipple and then cried for more. Nice try, but she still nursed after. Next time we will try a little more I guess, we didn't have anymore breastmilk defrosted and the bottle definatley doesn't make her tired  and relaxed like nursing does!

Thanksgiving-5 weeks!

*WARNING* Picture overload...

What an eventful week! Paisley had her first Drs appointment (besides the well baby), her first Thanksgiving, and her first BIG smiles at mommy, daddy, grammy, and Auntie Nycole!! She also got to stay home with Auntie Nycole while mommy got her hair done. I'm branching out! Letting go a little...maybe. I guess it doesn't count that Nycole is basically like my sister. She loved her Auntie Nycole...and showed her love by pooping ALL OVER her. Not just on her clothes, oh no. Squirted fresh poo right onto her skin. Evidence there is love. Nycole screamed, I laughed, Paisley continued to poo, and my dog thought we were killing the baby.

Always goin for the boobies.

Paisley & Nycole

So excited to have my bff in town!

Paisley gets two Thanksgivings this year, with both sides of the family! We had a quiet day with my parents on Thursday, and did another on Sunday with the Smosna's! The more turkey, the better for me :) Paisley seemed to like it, too :) Andy smoked up his new traditional turkey and his brother Mike did a fryed one. We couldn't decide which one was better!

A different Thanksgiving table this year...

Alot of this happened.

And alot of this.

She's doing so good lifting her head.

Grammy & Grampy & Paisley :)

I really love these peeps.

Getting cozy by the fire.

Mike and Beth, hosts of the turkey cookoff :)
Everyone gets to love on Miss Paisley

What cuties!!
Paisley and Rachelee. Her cousins LOVE her. Couldn't keep their hands off!

It was too cute when she dissapeared came out in this :)
Paisley went to the Dr on Monday for a rash that she had on her face, ears, and neck. Dr thinks its a contact allergy, like possibly scented detergent or something like that. So we have been very careful and applying Eucerin cream and hydrocortisone as needed. Looks like she's got skin like her mommy...bye bye bath and body works. Bye bye fake jewelry. Bye bye yummy smelling laundry! Did I also mention that she got weighed at her appointment and she was a WHOPPING 10lbs, 12oz!! Yeah baby, 90th percentile! I find it very strange that my daughter is such a good eater...ok I don't.

I know that soon I will look back at her size in comparison to the couch. So itty bitty!

Andy's convinced she's ready to walk. I told him give her a few more months...

My girl is so full of smiles these days. But I have to admit that this was
Auntie Nycole's smile while mommy was away. So lucky!!
Sleep is still about the same- 10 or 11pm till 3 or 4 am, then till about 6 or 7am. She is fussy at night and there were times this week it took us 2 hrs to get her down! Exhausting. A big milestone for us as parents is that we finally turned our pillows around to the right end of the bed instead of hovering over the pack-n-play! It's all about time. I still am not sure when she'll go in her crib, we are coming up on (eek!) 6 weeks. I have thought about it a few times because I am too intuned to her every grunt and sometimes it makes for terrible sleep. Andy wouldnt hear a baby monitor, I know that for sure, so it would definatley be on my side! Oh, and she now hates her swing. She screams right when we put her in it everytime.
