all up in my bizness: instagram

Yes, I really just titled this post ‘all up in my bizness’. Should be more like ‘biz-nass’, ya know? Because these instagrams really are what’s going on. What’s going down with us. Our biznass.

Turquoise and Caicos

Reading at the table

We decided to get crazy and try some Mexican Coke at work. It was good! Not much different, though.

Okay. I did not do anything to this girl’s hair except dry it with a towel. This means she has my hair.

Mom’s homemade strawberry ice cream. Let’s just say that these weren’t the only bowls we had.

Hanging out at the pool.

Two girls in stripes.

Amazing people thinking of me during their worldly travels.

Shhhh, listen. At the Dr.’s office about to get some shots.

Right after shots, getting ice cream of course!

We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary down in Hollywood. I love this guy!

Anniversary flowers. Beautiful! Still alive (and blooming!) a week later.

Andy put this in my anniversary card for fun. I didn’t win :(

Anthropologie. We had so much fun in there.

This picture cracks me up. She was actually saying “cheeeese”, and apparently this is her version of a pose.

Sleeping Beauty.

I was beyond excited to see that I got the Beauty Blender in my Birchbox. Probably because it was one of those items I could not bring myself to buy but looked really interesting. There’s a great tutorial on how to use it to apply foundation here.

It was a perfect day in Hollywood. We dined al fresco and loved relaxing.

Forever 21 was bangle heaven. At $7 and $8, who cares how many you grab! (On my plate from Anthropologie).

It’s Friday!! :)

little things, our things

It’s Sunday. There’s piles of laundry to be done, bathrooms that need scrubbing, and I’m sure a few other things around the house that need some attention. But something keeps drawing me back to the stool, at the bar, in front of the computer. I need a shower and there’s swimming, naps, snacks, dinner prep, and grocery shopping that need to be done. But I’m here. It feels good to recount and re-live the good little moments that we’ve had over the past few weeks just being US. What we know best.

Cereal is a treat. It’s a messy, slow meal. But she loves it.

Morning walks.

We’ve been doing it since she was a baby. Except now she’s walking herself. Taking charge, not wanting to ride in the wagon, but pulling it herself. It’s only in the 90’s by the time we get out there at 8 or 9, but 105 and 110 are soon to come, so we make the best of the sliver of the morning we can get out.

After nap.

Rejuvenation is the only word for how my babe feels. She babbles until we slip out of our silence and greet her again. She usually wants books handed to her so she can read them in her crib for a few minutes until she decides she’s ready to get out. I have a feeling that this is partially a ploy to suck on her binky for a little while longer. Her curly hair is at it’s best and she’s happy, ready for the second part of our day.

Story time.

Undoubtedly the favorite time of the day. Sometimes she wants to read her own while daddy reads aloud, and she knows to point things out at certain times in each book. What we are reading lately: Yummy Yucky, Go, Dog, Go!, ABC’s, No No, Yes Yes, Llama Llama Misses Mama, I Love You Forever, and Quiet Loud.

these are not the fireworks I remember

I admit that I haven’t partaken in purchasing personal fireworks pretty much ever. We did them when I was younger with family and friends, but it’s been awhile. Well, apparently there has been a slight (read: big) change in what is “legal” for fireworks in California. I wanted Miss Pea to see a real sparkler and show her how pretty/fun it is.

Enter our “sparklers”:

The first few, I was positive we just had a dud. But after some complaining and convincing by my parents that these were the “new” sparklers, I was so sad to know that this is how they are these days!

We listened to the booms in the distance of the fireworks around town and enjoyed the rare cloudy sunset. We ate our favorite whiskey bbq sliders and tried to ignore the fact that we had to go to work the next morning (who lets a holiday like that fall on a Wednesday!?).

We had a heck of a party.

Instagram Sunday

Her new (to her) tricycle. It’s so cute!

This is her “cheese” nowadays. It’s very concentrated.

Shopping with mama.

Pinterest recreate.

Yay for summer and the pool! (Except when the AC at work is broken! :P)

She likes aviators.

Um…helping me fold some laundry, I find two pairs of my underwear around her neck.

The Fourth.

With Auntie Nycole.

Long Beach.

Match made in heaven.

This was not to long after she threw up everywhere. Nice recovery! :)

friends and the last bit of our fun day

It’s 6PM and my darling daughter still has not left her Auntie Nycole’s lap. After visiting with family for awhile, we decided to go for a quick bite to eat at Chipotle and then Miss Pea and I hit the road. I don’t think she was awake for 5 minutes of that ride.

Time with friends is so limited for me, but yet so important. I felt refreshed having a day to catch up and relax, and it made it even more perfect that Paisley was so well behaved. I can’t really say what I’m referring to there considering we’ve never had a public meltdown or anything. I guess I’m just always expecting (and fearing!) it.

Cheers to balancing motherhood, friendships, relationships, and life in general.
