I’ve been asked multiple times this weekend “what are your plans for memorial day"?”. The answer to that was “nothing”. That is okay with me, we swam with friends, took extra long walks, played in the mud, and just hung out like we do best.
Last weekend we spent some time at Grandma’s house, one of our favorite places to be. She’s got a great outdoor space, different toys, and things to get into. I remember going to grandmas when I was little. Such a comfortable place, a place that was different than home, a fun place. We got to have different snacks than at home, we trekked through the garden, which led to the ‘secret garden’ that was a small sitting area with elephant leaves. There were lots of lizards and sometimes a mouse or two in the pool (ew!). I like to watch my little girl create these memories at her grandma’s house. I’m not folding laundry or cleaning, like at home, so I enjoy it just as much.

“Go-go”. Aka yogurt.
Outside. Anything outside.
Bubble Guppies (still).
Shoes, shoes, and more shoes. On, off, buckle, on, off, carry them around, repeat.
This version of the ABC’s. [if you can get past the bad graphics, the song is pretty cute]
Elmo. Can’t believe I’m saying this. But my daughter likes Elmo thanks to her diapers and a few books she has
I do realize that nineteen months sounds kinda silly. We used to count every month until the big O-N-E.

She tears my heart into pieces, one diaper size at a time. These size 5’s are the next step to potty training.
Macaroni; for me, not Pea. Probably because she has not discovered the true radness of it. I will give her a little more time. Then, I will not be able to call her mine.
Girls weekend to celebrate Ryder :)
I did not know about the churro situation at Costco. Thank GOD we don’t have a Costco. I would probably go every day.
And thanks, Allyson, for changing my churro life. Nothing will ever be good enough after this one.
Welcome, Mom shorts.
One weekend with double doubles AND Costco churros? Heaven.
My girl with daddy
Looking for the “mooooon!”
Watching my favorites play outside in the dirt. I sit on the OTHER side of the glass door. Where there is no dirt.
She knows the routine! Nose spray everyday…
Kisses through the glass. Reason #847 I don’t clean this window.
New belt from Target
Didn’t realize I was shopping in the bird food section of the grocery store.
My little froggy
She swings! The first trip to the park she was scared of this contraption. This time, she was so relaxed, I thought she was going to fall asleep. (Like her outfit? Socks and pants from the diaper bag served as last minute lifesavers at the rough and tough playground).
Frozen “go-go” on Mother’s Day.
Just another drive to work.

I’m sitting here listening to my two favorites play in the bathtub. Andrew has got some Jake Owen playing at an inappropriate volume and my girl doesn’t mind a bit. I’ve decided to give up on sweeping the floor tonight to write this post and I am also wondering why the one company I hate the most, is also the one I give the most of my money to. DirecTV. We had it out on the phone (again) today. I lost.
I thought last night would be a big night, I would get to watch the season premiere of my beloved show, The Bachelorette. Alas, I cannot stay up until 9:30. So, tonight’s the night! Commercial free.
Heading through a 5-day work week…it will be a challenge. I missed my girl so incredibly much these past two days. She leapt out of my arms at drop off and said “buh bye!” with a smile on her face both days so far. It makes it (a little) easier.
Anyway, the weekend. The back porch.
It has become the new place to be. We spent our weekend there! Once breakfast is over, Pea’s requests are to look for the birds and “opu!” the back door. We even had a little breakfast out there one day.
Her other favorite is to play with water on the porch. I’m glad to let her get dirty if she stays happy for awhile. Luckily it’s hot enough for this by 8am.
However, this weekend, she introduced water to our sea of dirt in the backyard. It turned out good. I mean bad. When it came time to clean up. Luckily, I handed that task off to daddy.
I think we are going to grass sooner, rather than later.
We are off to finish up the week, miss each other a little, and enjoy the warm weather.
