truth be told

I think I’ve been purposely avoiding this.

The truth is- you are ten months old. That’s how long I baked you in my tummy. Then you came. It was wonderful. Now I can’t imagine it any other way. You are my happiness, my life, and my dream come true. Thank you for letting me be your mommy.
[ten months baked]

What I have not shared is that you are in the big girl class at school now. The one where you sleep on cots (aye!) and eat at the table. The one where you play outside and dance and sing songs with your classmates. Not the one where you sleep in a crib, or have bottles all day. Not the one where you stay in the safety of the indoors and spend your day snoozing. Nope. The next one after that. Wow.
You push around your dinosaur (daddy’s gift to you) all evening long, letting go of the handle a little more each day. You have learned to balance your weight and stand up straight. You are up more than you are down. Your teacher tells me you will be walking in the next week or two. I’m not ready. Just like for sitting up and crawling. I don’t care.

What a personality. You mimic “I love you” and say mom mom and dada all the time. We taught you the sign for “more” because you would scream for more after every bite. Meal times are much easier now and we are going to work on “please” next.

People keep mentioning Fall is coming. And October. And Halloween. All of that only means ONE thing to me. I think you know what I mean.

Stay little, my precious bug.
