little Pea

You are now SEVEN months old.
oh, how we love you.

You like toys that are not toys. And vegetables, not fruits. (Have you ever met a baby who doesn't like fruit?) The name Pea fits perfectly because peas are your  favorite (just like mommy!!). You give your daddy and I a heart attack every time you get a Mum-Mum and choke and gag.
Lid from a frosting container. Made her day.
All kinds of new things are going on around this house. You frequently say "da-da" and you have also said "ma-ma" and "dog" twice. Basically, you are a little parrot. When you want a bottle, you say "mmm". It's cute.

New cheesy grin

Toby loves you. You love him, too.

Your hair is growing :)
You keep pushing your little booty up in the air, but then your trunk falls down.

You are getting prepped for the Mowgli crawl.

You're a quick little booger.

You haven't pulled yourself up yet, but you like it when daddy and I put you up where you can reach and see :)
You're a lot of fun :)
MUAH!

a lovely weekend

Pea hasn't been herself for the past 2 days. I think we are in the early stages of teething. The weather has been pretty miserable and we haven't been able to pull out the new pool that Grammy bought. But all of these things are just life. I'm going to focus on the fact that we have 4 wonderful days to do whatever we want. On with the holiday weekend...

Is it the weekend yet?

routine

The changing table is the magical little place where we spend so much of our time :) Pea talks to me and I talk back to her as I proceed to kiss her little belly and tickle her squishy thighs.
But it's also the place where we have our routine. The one where she goes for the butt paste every time because she knows it's not hers and she knows I'll let her suck on it for just enough time to slap a diaper on the ever flailing and rolling booty of hers.
Every time she gets it, it's like a victory.
She then proceeds to stick the sharp part in her mouth and I grab it away and tell her she is going to poke her eye out.
But I still let her have it every time. Because I'm the mom and I can and she's cute and I love her. After she does that, I stand her up and she gives the owl picture "kisses". Basically, she just holds onto the sides of it and hollers and licks it over and over until I rip her away :)
Then she goes for other things that are not hers. Nail clippers. Booger tweezers. Hairbrush.
"I want them, Mommy. I just want to play with them and taste them."
Nope. Those are MOMMY'S booger tweezers.

I like that she can sit up now. I can sit her anywhere and she can watch and play. I don't ever want her to crawl. Because that means that I will have to baby proof and not turn my head and set up barriers and stuff. No thanks.

I mean, she's just so cute like this. But she has been coming home from daycare with rug burned knees trying to get those legs underneath her. It's eminent.

New favorite picture. I love my babes!

name of the game

Paisley sits up like a big girl in her high chair now. She absolutely loves it.
Sometimes she sits and plays while momma cooks dinner or gets her food ready.
But there is a game involved here. All parents know this one. It's the bang-my-toy-against-the-tray-violently-while-hollering-game.

But then, the toy drops (or usually is thrown off the side). This is a whole NEW game. All parents know this one, too. It's the Drop-my-toy/food-as-smany-times-as-possible-off-the-edge, make-the-uh-oh-face-and-see-how-long-these-suckers-will-retrieve-it game.
Now, sweet darling baby smooshy face of mine; this game is a blast, but mommy is trying to complete one single task today.
"Dad?!"

catching up

I haven't downloaded/edited any photos this week. So here's where my dearest iPhone comes in handy :)
Nothing groundbreaking going on this past week. The weather has been total crap, and as far as I'm concerned the ratio of work days to days off is WAY off!

Paisley is starting the early mutterings of "da-da" and her newest thing is to take toys and bang them against things or eachother. Loves the sound. Also, when I give her a toy in her highchair to bang against the tray. She also is now in full swing with her exersaucer. I'm afraid I might find her on the floor next to it because she almost jumps out.

We got P's first "report card" yesterday. Under Favorite Special Interests/Activities: Paisley really enjoys eating and drinking her bottle. HA! I mean, there were other things listed but I think it's hilarious that this is one of her favorites. That's my girl :)

one of those days

It was one of those mornings where I wanted to climb back under the covers with the laptop, sip my coffee, and watch the sun break into the room slowly. I wanted to have some toast with jelly and then bring Paisley into my bed with me to play and cuddle when she woke up. Then maybe get out the stroller and take a walk while wearing my comfiest(is that a word?) black yoga pants and my sunglasses.

BUT

none of that happened.

I had to go to work. And Pea had to go to daycare. I'm gonna try to keep it on the positive and tell myself we can do just that on Friday morning. Maybe even with Daddy.

Can't wait.

Toby in desperate need of attention, Pea falls asleep while playing with an empty tissue box, Grampy gets excited about babies and bacon ice cream, Pea uses Grammy's brace as a drum, Pea now sits up in the bath tub, Starbucks Cakepops-nuff said, Me loving the nautical trend, the cutest butt and thigh rolls you've ever seen, and my girl asleep after a long day at daycare.
